Maintenance Technician
THE FOLLOWING IS A GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION FOR THIS POSITION IN THE PROPERTY MANAGMENT INDUSTRY. RESPONSIBILITIES MAY VARY BY EMPLOYER. REGULAR POSITIONS WITH APARTMENT COMMUNITIES MAY DIFFER FROM DUTIES FOR CAREER STRATEGIES TEMPORARY POSITIONS THUS TEMPORARY ASSIGNMENT DUTIES ARE SUBJECT TO APPROVAL BY CAREER STRATEGIES' ASSOCIATE.
A maintenance technician acts as an internal ambassador between the residents of the apartment community and management. The maintenance technician is responsible for providing exceptional service while maintaining value and quality in the community by assessing and repairing the property as requested.
Basic responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Greeting all residents, future residents and internal team members in a professional manner
- Keeping a high level of service in mind with every task
- Assessing and troubleshooting problems
- Performing basic electrical repair
- Painting/ Cleaning
- Performing home maintenance tasks
- Cleaning pool and/or hot tub
- Respecting the boundaries of confidentiality, fair housing laws and safety
Ideal candidates will have:
- Strong customer service background and skills
- Projection of a professional image by following dress code and appearance standards as set forth by the community
- Reliable transportation
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- A willingness to be trained
- 1 year prior maintenance experience
- A positive, upbeat attitude
- A work record of good attendance and punctuality
- Access to basic hand tools (i.e. drill, channel locks, pliers and hammer).
